After an epic 70 days, 8,000 miles and 8,000 runners, it is the penultimate day of the Olympic torch relay! The Olympic torch will end its journey on the 27th July 2012 when it finally reaches the Olympic Stadium for the grand opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The opening ceremony is thought to have cost £27 million to organise and will be witnessed by a crowd of over 60,000 spectators from within the stadium with millions more across the world watching from home.
Things are already looking good for Team GB, after England’s defeat over New Zealand in the first Olympic Event of the Games, Women’s football.
