Many sectors are now entering a critical period. The ageing "baby boomer" population is approaching retirement and beginning to reduce their hours to part-time or leaving their full-time administration work posts altogether.

For some organisations, these phenomena may help create leaner and smarter teams. For others, this means that a huge amount of capability and experience will leave their work in administration over a relatively short period of time. And currently, administration replacement demand is running at 1.2 million people over the next five years.

More than 97% of all UK organisations acknowledge the crucial importance of administration functions to business success. So the prosperity of individuals, businesses and the nation is going to depend, in part, on your acquisition of professional administration skills.

This Business Administration Diploma is a level 3 course. This requires you to obtain detailed knowledge, skills and understanding within a relevant field. It demonstrates team leading and specialist technical skills with competence in communication, problem solving and applied teamwork. Example job roles for this level include Personal Assistant, Secretary and Administration Clerk.

This Business Administration Short Course will provide you with the knowledge required to be able to carry out an administration function effectively and efficiently.

It covers three areas, all central to the administrative role:
Organising skills
I.T. skills
People skills

The job of an administrator is to communicate. To receive process and transmit information from departments, to other departments.

You communicate with other people everyday – when you talk to them face-to-face, send a text message, make a telephone call or write an email. You also regularly receive communication from other people – by post, telephone, face-to-face and online. Until you start work for an employer, your communications are mostly between you and your friends and family, and are always informal and usually friendly!

There may be odd misunderstandings or minor difficulties, but the consequences of errors are unlikely to result in serious problems or financial loss. When you start work the situation changes. You are now involved in sending and receiving a wide range of business communications.

This Business Administration programme aims to provide you with all the knowledge to become a good administrator whether in the public or private sector, or working in a not for profit environment.

Required knowledge

The good news is that no prior learning knowledge or experience is essential to take this course. This short course is openly available to anyone wishing to learn more about Business Administration and would like to take part in a highly rewarding home study course. You'll have access to the course for twelve months, with no tutor support provided

Note: This is a self study short course, with a multiple choice exam for completion. You'll be provided with an NCC Certificate.

Assessment

There is no assessment, you'll complete a multiple choice exam to complete the short course.

Awarding organisation

At the end of this short course successful learners will be awarded a downloadable PDF NCC Certificate. This is not a qualification, however it will be looked upon favorably by any existing or future employer.

FAQs

What does NCC stand for?

NCC originally stood for the National Consortium of FE (Further Education) Colleges. This brought together the FE Colleges to achieve the best provision. Regular national meetings were attended by both Colleges and Government agencies who funded them. This was very helpful to them both to best deliver training to their students.
