It couldn't be easier to learn with NCC
Distance Learning is a term used to describe a method of learning where you; the learner, are not physically required to be ‘onsite’ to be guided through learning materials. Learners and tutors will use email to communicate with you deciding how, when and where you learn.
Once you have made the decision to purchase and your course materials have arrived in the post (or access instructions by email), you are ready to begin!
Distance Learning allows you to develop the personal confidence and independence needed for success. Once you have become familiar with your distance learning course materials and you feel you know your way around the programme, then it is time to put together your own personal study plan to help you decide how best to study. We would advise that you write down your plan to assist you in following your timetable.
Where necessary, please be sure to return your enrolment information to NCC Home Learning, which ensures that you receive your personal tutor contact information and a suggested action plan put together by us to help you complete your course within the given time period.
Take a look through your course materials starting with the first module and answer the questions provided to you at the end of this module. These answers are then submitted to your tutor for marking and feedback.
Your tutor will mark your assignment as quickly as possible after receiving it. You should normally receive a reply within about 10 working days although around holiday times it may take a little longer. If you submit an assignment but do not receive feedback after two weeks please contact the student helpline. Your tutor will need to retain your assignments for moderation purposes (checking by another person).
Once your feedback is received, you are able to progress on to the next module, being sure to complete any suggested amendments that may have been made by your tutor on your previous module feedback.
If you require any assistance from your tutor between module submissions, you are able to email them with any enquiries as support is unlimited during your 12 month support period. You may be required to carry out additional research to the course materials depending on the course level you have chosen
Upon course completion, you will be supplied with a final certificate from the awarding body who are certificating your course (if applicable).
Please be sure to check the specific information on your chosen course page in regards to support periods and awarding bodies as the above information is a general overview of our course process.
